• Movies - Redbox to Warner Bros: Go Screw Yourself!
  • Warner Bros. decided that because DVD/Blu-ray sales continue to decline that Redbox, Netflix and other rental services would have to wait 56 days for new media
  • After a failed negotiation, Redbox has decided to purchase movies to rent from other sources for rental bypassing the wait

• Web - ACTA: The Anti-piracy back door
  • The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement is a treaty created by several countries to stop piracy of goods around the world.
  • It was signed on Oct. 1 by several countries including the US & Canada but must be ratified by 6 countries
  • It is a treaty so congress has no hand in it, the President signs it
  • If enacted, it would use a “3 strikes” rule for copy-right violators and ban you from any use of the Internet
  • Currently two petitions; one to end it completely & one to send it to Senate review
