If this did not get some of your attention then you must be crazy! Valentine’s Day was released this weekend at the box office, of course their timing couldn’t have been better with the weekend of celebrating your love for someone. This movie has something for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE! Whether you are single, married, divorced, heterosexual, homosexual, single parent, young adult, old adult, you name it and somewhere in the storyline will you see something that will remind you of the one you love or have loved or even will love.

It will be hard to describe everything that happens in the movie because there are literally about ten storylines going on at once. Each story will somehow connect to another and complete one equation. I will admit, it is kind of a long movie! It lasted a little over two hours and I really feel that some of the overall storyline could have been shortened or even taken out. I did not get bored in the movie, but I did honestly think a couple of times, when is the story going to take off. It did seem to drag or take awhile to get to the point in some of the stories.

However, I did laugh and smile and even got emotional, where that knot comes in your throat, during this two hour time period. I mean, what movie can have all of these A-list celebrities and NOT be great! There were plenty more well-known actors that I could list. I do not want to try and explain exactly what happens in the movie, because I do not want to give away how it all ends.

I will say, you will travel through all the stages of love that you may and have experienced in your lifetime. You will be brought back to those days when you experienced young love and thought you would spend the rest of your life with another one. You will remember how it feels to be in love with someone, only to find out they are not who you think they are. You will remember that pit in your stomach feeling when someone breaks your heart. You will remember what a childhood crush feels like and how you agonized at how to tell that special someone how you felt. You will remember what it is like to be away from someone you love more than life itself. I know for some remembering all of these things may seem depressing, but most women, especially, like to think about the past whether it was painful or complete happiness.

I would say Valentine’s Day is definitely a chick flick, but your guy won’t mind watching it because of all the hot ladies on the big screen. Also, even if you are a woman and you don’t care for the chick flick style movies, you can watch Valentine’s Day for all the male candy on the screen. Yeah, that may have sounded a little degrading, but come on….Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher…my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Go check it out and see what you think! Hope you find something within the movie that you will find funny or heartwarming.

I thought the movie was OK. Yes there are some very attractive ladies in the movie but that has never been enough to make me go see or like a movie on it's own. There are several story lines going all at once and they do intersect continuously but the over all story line just never really seems to come together. They do wrap up the story arcs but it just seems to ramble on. Good date movie but not one I would go see again. If you have the option go see It's Complicated instead.
